F. Recently, we had to make Ring Dance tickets. Miro, Melissa and I made one Ring Dance ticket as an example while Nichole and Julianna made the other example. When it came to deciding which one we were going to use everyone because contentious. Of course everyone wanted their own ticket to win. After a couple of minutes, to end the contentious state of everyone, Nichole said that she was going to make an executive decision and therefore preceeded to pick her design. -Kamila
G. Being contentious relates to a movie I have seen before. It reminds me of my cousin vinny because there were lawyers in that movie, and lawyers are always argumentative. Contentious means that you are always finding something to argue about. In that movie they find alot to argue about.(julia)

Passions were high and voters turned out en masse to the town meeting polls Tuesday, but it wasn't enough to pass a contentious $2.9 million proposal to renovate the Opera House.
In this article, the word contentious was used to represent an argumentative proposal-in this case to renovate the Opera House. The article is about the controversy (a definition of contentious) of the renovation of the Opera House and therefore used the word contentious.
